In order to reach consensus during the preparation procedure of a standardization document, ELOT takes all measures to assure the broad participation of all interested parties through representatives of relevant stakeholders.
The participation in ELOT Sectoral Committees, Technical Committees, Working Groups and Specific Working Groups, is, in general, voluntary. In any case the participation in ELOT technical bodies offers added value to the relevant stakeholders and to the experts involved.
The main advantage is that the interested parties, through their participation in the standardization activities, have direct access to the decision-making process for the establishment of standards and specifications. As a result, their documented technical views may influence the final content of a standard and, in addition, they have direct information about trends in the market.
